    Tipsy

    Picture

Tipsy is just about the coolest dog ever. We adopted her from the San Diego County South Animal Shelter. Whoever gave her up, it was certainly their loss.  She looks like she's part chihuahua, Italian greyhound, and maybe terrier. She's super smart and just wants to make everyone happy. She's so observant that we've put a few of her "tricks" on cues from our eye movement. She's also all legs, and is a super fast runner. We hope to get her involved in agility soon, we think she'd be great at it.

    Pansy

    Picture

Pansy is just that....a pansy. She's a cute little white fluffy dog with big puppy dog eyes. We adopted her from Helen Woodward Shelter as a "sister" for Tipsy. Though they have some jelousy issues, they just love to rough house together, and sometimes we'll even catch them cuddling.

    Mr. Bird

    Picture

Mr. Bird has a bit of a sad story. He was the last cockatiel born at my parent's aviary. My husband and I hand raised him from 3 days old. We gave him as a gift to my great-grandmother who passed away a few months later, so of course we took Mr. Bird back.  He sings, talks, does flips, and plays basketball with his toys.

    A Word From My Soapbox...

Both our dogs were adopted from shelters. I can personally tell you that adopting a shelter animal will give you such a warm fuzzy feel good feeling of truly making a difference. Knowing that you have given homeless abandoned animals a family and home, and perhaps saving their lives will have such a powerful impact on you. Any animal at a shelter is just as deserving of a loving home as any animal you could buy at a pet store or from a breeder. None of the animals in shelters deserve to be there, it is their previous owners that failed them. If you are considering adding a pet to your family, please look at shelters first. You will be surprised by what you find there.

If you are thinking a bringing an animal into your life, please only do so if you are prepared to give it a forever home. If you don't think you can make that commitment or aren't prepared to pay for the costs associated with owning a pet, please don't bring that pet into your life.  Pets are not disposable.
